Teide stargazing with dinner: five evenings compared, from €35 to €89
Updated October 7, 2026 · 7 min read
The short answer: for most visitors the Teide National Park Dinner, Sunset & Stargazing Experience is the one to book, because dinner is an option rather than a fixed part of the price. It starts from €55 per person, has 4.5 stars from 2,480 reviews, and lets you decide at booking whether to add the three-course dinner and whether you want hotel pickup or would rather drive yourself. If you want the dinner, a coach and one language for the whole group, the nine-hour Guided Sunset & Stargazing Tour with Dinner is the alternative at €89.

The question these tours answer is not whether the sky is good — it is — but what you want to do between sunset and the telescope. A seated dinner adds time and money, and it changes the length of the evening more than the price suggests. A cheaper tour with no food at all is a legitimate choice.

The three that serve dinner
Night Skies Tenerife is the flexible one. Its page describes a welcome sunset with cava or orange juice, stargazing with telescopes and laser pointers, and complimentary photos and a sunset time-lapse. If you add the dinner, it is a three-course Canarian meal at Restaurante 7 Cañadas, 2,130 metres above sea level; without it you wait on the restaurant terrace. Pickup from selected points in the south is an option, or you can drive to the restaurant yourself. Guiding is in English, Spanish or French. Reviews on the page are not unanimous about the food: one recent visitor called the dinner disappointing but the evening excellent, another praised the food and wine.
The nine-hour tour with dinner is a full day out. The itinerary on its page runs roughly: a 30-minute coffee break, about two hours of photo stops and scenic views, a 45-minute sunset, a dinner of an hour and a half at a restaurant inside the national park, then an hour of guided stargazing. It picks up in the south, between Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes, and in the north from Puerto de la Cruz — but only on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. There is one language per coach, so check yours before you pay. Its rating of 4.7 is the best of the three dinner tours.

The winery dinner is shorter, at five hours, and different in kind: you eat first at Bodegas Reverón in Vilaflor, 1,414 metres up, with wines from the area, and then continue to the national park for an hour of guided stargazing. Pickup is only in the south, from Los Gigantes to Golf del Sur. The page lists English and Spanish and says the tour may run in several languages at once. At 4.0 stars from 367 reviews it has the lowest rating here, and I would choose it only for the winery.
The picnic and the plain tour
The picnic tour is capped at eight people. It collects you at 4:30pm and brings you back at 10:30pm, with stops at Roques de García and the Paseo Lunar trail before a sunset picnic of cheese, tortilla, grapes, hummus, ham and baguette at the Mirador de Samara. It is the right choice if you do not want a restaurant but do not want to go hungry either.
The plain sunset and stargazing tour is the cheapest and the most booked of all five, with 3,549 reviews. There is no food on it, so eat beforehand. We describe it in detail in the Teide sunset and stargazing guide.
What the listings do not tell you
It is cold up there after dark. The pages for the four dinner and picnic tours all tell you to bring warm clothing, and the Night Skies page says coats are available on request. The Night Skies page also says the tour is not recommended for people with serious medical conditions affected by altitude; ask your doctor if that might apply to you. None of those four pages gives a minimum age.
If you choose the self-drive option, you drive up the mountain in the evening and back down in the dark after the stargazing. If that does not appeal to you, take a coach tour, or compare hire cars and pick-up points for Tenerife if you would rather arrive on your own schedule.
Who should skip it
Wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments: according to their booking pages, the nine-hour tour and the Night Skies tour both list them as not suitable. Anyone who wants an early night, because the dinner tours bring you back late in the evening (the nine-hour tour is the longest). And anyone who would rather spend the money on the mountain by day: the Mount Teide tours compare the daytime options.
