Teide: do you need a ticket – and which tour already includes it?
Updated October 14, 2026 · 5 min read
The short answer: a general visit to Teide National Park is not the same purchase as a cable-car ride or access to a restricted summit path. Of the three options below, only the Mount Teide Tour with Cable Car Ticket & Transfer explicitly names round-trip cable-car tickets and hotel pickup: €92, seven hours, 4.3 stars from 5,952 reviews. The island circuit and the stargazing trip visit the Teide landscape but name no cable-car ticket. The word “Teide” in a title is not proof of a ticket.
What the three prices buy
| Tour | Duration | From | Rating | Ticket answer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mount Teide Tour with Cable Car Ticket & Transfer | 7 hours | €92 per person | 4.3 (5,952) | round-trip cable car included |
| Teide, Masca, Icod & Garachico Tour | 9 hours | €58 per person | 4.6 (2,893) | no cable-car ticket stated |
| Sunset and Stargazing at Teide National Park | 3–5 hours | €35 per person | 4.7 (3,549) | stargazing, no cable-car ticket |
The package that actually says “ticket included”
The €92 tour is the clear choice when you want hotel pickup and the cable car in one booking. Its description names the round-trip cable-car tickets and the ascent to 3,555 metres. At the top you explore the volcanic landscape at your own pace. Nothing there mentions access to a restricted summit path, so the package is not a guaranteed summit visit.
If you only want viewpoints at road level, you do not need it: you pay for one specific lift-and-transfer combination, not a blanket entrance to the landscape. At 4.3 stars it has the lowest star rating in the table, but with 5,952 reviews it has more than twice as many voices as the island circuit.

The €58 circuit buys distance, not a lift
The nine-hour guided tour links Teide National Park, Masca, Icod de los Vinos and Garachico. Its value is the guided transport between four places; it runs two hours longer than the cable-car package and costs €34 less. The description names no cable-car ticket, so plan it as an island circuit. It suits visitors who want variety and disappoints anyone who assumes every Teide tour rides the cable car up.

€35 buys stars, not a lift
The sunset-and-stargazing tour sells certified guides, small groups and more time at the telescope; its published duration is three to five hours. Nothing in that description makes it a daytime cable-car booking. At 4.7 stars it has the best rating in the table, but ratings do not make different products interchangeable.

Who books what
No car and a wish for the cable car: the €92 package. Keen on Masca, Icod and Garachico and no interest in the cable car: the island circuit. For the evening and the night sky: the stargazing trip. Whether the two cheaper tours collect you from your hotel is not stated in their descriptions; check the meeting point in the booking.
Decide in this order: scenery at road level, cable car, then a possibly restricted path. Check the access requirement for your exact route before you go. If you want lift and transfer, book the Teide tour with cable car ticket. If you only want scenery or stars, do not pay for a cable car you will not use. Our summit permit guide covers the path question separately.
